Reflexology

It’s no accident my business is called Barefoot Life. I go barefoot whenever I can, whether it’s walking in the grass, on the beach, paddling in the sea or pottering around the house. I’m fascinated by feet and love reflexology. Did you know that each area on your foot is linked to a specific body part and applying pressure to one area of the foot can affect the organ with which it corresponds?

Reflexology has helped me overcome a lot of health issues. I can't even remember the last time I went to the doctor. I got into it because I kept getting cystitis and antibiotics weren’t clearing it up. I was recommended reflexology and had 3 treatments it got better with each treatment and it didn't come back. This is obviously not going to be everyone's experience but it is mine. It works best as a maintenance treatment and if you like your feet being touched, you will love it!

Reflexology originated in Chinese medicine and was based on the belief that when a person is stressed they can block free-flowing energy in the body and this can lead to illness. The aim of reflexology is to release those blockages by applying pressure to points on the feet. It also aims to calm the central nervous system so reduces stress and anxiety, reduces pain, lifts mood, boosts the immune system and improves general wellbeing. There are many more reported benefits too, such as clearing up sinus issues, correcting hormonal imbalances, boosting fertility and improving digestion.

COST: £45 X1 HOUR (for home visits mileage will be extra)

“I am waiting for an operation on my knee due to nerve damage and have not been able to kneel down on one of my knees for just over a year. After just one session of reflexology, I could kneel on my knee without the horrendous stabbing pain, plus it was a wonderful, relaxing hour-long treatment.”
